The passage of the Republic Act 9003, otherwise known as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, declares the policy of the state in adopting a systematic, comprehensive and ecological solid waste management program that ensures public health protection, as well as the environment through the establishment of MSW collection systems anchored on the 3R formula—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
To address the 3R formula, Schind Waste Management Systems, offers machines that sort raw garbage through debagging machines and sorting conveyors. Furthermore, the recyclable materials are mechanically sorted and separated from bio-degradable and residual wastes. Reduction in volume is addressed by shredding machines, compression and baling machines for the recyclables and residual wastes.
LGUs are mandated to establish Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in each barangay or group of barangays designed to receive, sort, process and store compostable and recyclable materials efficiently. The residual wastes shall then be transferred to a long-term storage or disposal facility or sanitary landfill. No open dumps nor any practice or disposal of solid waste that constitutes open dumps for solid waste shall be allowed. The Act further provides for conversion of existing open dumps to controlled dumps.
Schind Waste Management Systems, offer turnkey MRF facilities for different volumes of waste. We have a single line version than can be expanded to a multi-line versions to address the size of the daily garbage of each LGU. The biodegradables are fed into our in-vessel composters to rapidly convert it to compost. We also offer HDPE liners, geotextile, and Geosynthetic clay liners, for lining the dumpsite to convert it into a controlled or sanitary landfill.
